Multi-award winning digital artists, the McGuires, have been stunning international audiences with their captivating mix of film, projection and multi-media installations. This year they invited us to develop underwater imagery for their exciting new installation, which will see mermaids projected into the waters at Hull Docks. Having been a fan for a few years, it was a great chance to spend time in their world and facilitate their current vision.

Shobana Jayasingh CBE is an internationally recognised and multi-award winning choreographer. We have had the pleasure working with Shobana since 2007 producing archive, marketing and educational material. During the first lock down in 2020, we delivered the "SJD Shorts” an online season of specially curated, digital dance events which were enjoyed by over a million viewers keeping arts alive in the UK as well as connecting the company to a new global audience. We are currently working on Shobana’s upcoming work, Clorinda Agonistes.

A new adventure has begun with AVA DANCE COMPANY. The Protocol, directed, choreographed and edited by Avatâra Ayuso, has won multiple awards at international film festivals this year. Stunningly fresh and stylish, this performance installation film was commissioned by the Spanish Embassy in London and the Arts Council England.

Lost Disc

Written and performed by Perrier Award Winner Will Adamsdale and Ed Gaughan (Peter Sellers Comedy Award nominee for the film Skeletons), The Lost Disc is a play combining live music and stand-up comedy, performed at the Soho Theatre, 2018. Directed by Tom Parry.

Dance
The Royal Opera House, 2019/20
Position: Filmmaker
Devised by the ROH’s hugely experienced and committed learning team, these films are integral to their Create and Dance educational outreach programme. The twenty-five films commissioned from their ballet and opera repertoire, explore themes, dance/voice technique, and choreography, forming an online suite of workshops for use by teachers in schools. The resulting courses have been tremendously successful with massive impact, reaching over ten thousand school pupils from Key Stage 1-3.
Compton Care
Bluebell Films, 2021
Position: DOP
One of Birmingham’s young, creative production companies, Bluebell Films, produced a very successful campaign film for Compton Care on the resistance to palliative care in the Asian community. The Writer/ Director, Bhulla Beghal, delivered a positive message through humour, without avoiding the difficult tones.
Funded by The National Big Lottery Community Fund and supported by Hospice UK.

The second of two music videos we shot with directors Bentley & Stafford, for the Mercury Prize nominated rock band, I Am Kloot, 2013
Some Better Day, starring John Simm, perfectly captured this Manchester based rock band’s bittersweet tone and the song’s strange sense of uplifting melancholy.

Collaborating with the talented new writer Karin Thomson, last year’s development film, emerged after months of lockdown. We were able to test out ideas, establishing visual style and tone for this short film about love, war and witchcraft.
